Corporate and Commercial Litigation

John (“Jack”) Harris is a co-founding partner of Berger Harris LLP.

Jack concentrates his practice in corporate and commercial litigation in the state and federal courts of Delaware, particularly the Delaware Court of Chancery.

He has 20-plus years of experience litigating and advising corporate boards, stockholders, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, special committees, trustees, and other fiduciaries, involving a broad range of issues including fiduciary duties, business divorces, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes, dissolution, books and records demands, advancement/indemnification, trade secrets, and restrictive covenants, among other complex business litigation issues involving Delaware law.

Jack has extensive courtroom experience, having served as lead trial counsel in more than 25 cases.

He also regularly advises on cross-border litigation matters involving Delaware law. His cross-border experience includes engagements as a consulting expert for an AMLAW-100 firm in connection with high-stakes litigation in the United Kingdom, and as a testifying expert before the highest trial court in the Republic of Singapore.

Before co-founding Berger Harris, Jack was a partner of Reed Smith LLP, an international AMLAW-50 firm. Prior to private practice, he was the judicial law clerk for the Honorable William L. Witham, Jr., of the Superior Court of Delaware, and the Honorable George L. Seltzer of the Superior Court of New Jersey, respectively.
